Hi all,

For those that might still happen to read this loverly community, Sailor Moon is experiencing a resurgence of interest! Both Italy and Hong Kong have picked up the rights to re-air it for the anniversary (what # are we on now? 15, I think? WOW!), and there are some very cool communities out there getting started...

Including this one that might appeal to some of the older SM fans ^_~

[info]sailormoon_kink

It's a Sailor Moon kinkmeme. For the uninformed, it's a one-stop-shop for anyone and everyone to go to request Sailor Moon fics fitting various kinks. They can be sexual kinks or not, starring one or more Sailor Moon characters...even crossovers!

So check it out! Make a request, fill a request, have a little fun in the Sailor Moon fandom once again!

Hey, so who here likes getting presents?

I DO, I DO!

Who likes giving presents and making other people happy? I DO, I DO! Especially when I don't have to go to a crowded mall and spend a lot of money to get them!

So give and get some awesomely awesome and supremely creative gifts over at [info]sm_fanswap. It's a fan swap where you sign up to write a fic or draw some art for a fellow fan, and get some from another fan in return! Everyone's happy!

Sign-ups end the 21st, so hop to it-- and tell 'em [info]the_sweet sent you!

I'm already signed up, so anyone who comes from SMRFF and is still into the fandom (even just a LITTLE bit, for nostalgia's sake) can expect a fic from me!

...Yeah yeah, total advertisement. But I figured since it's totally related (you know, Sailor Moon + fanfiction), I might garner some attention here. Hope everyone's well. Spread the word!

Hello to all of my fabulous fellow SMRFFers! [If I didn't float this properly on top of the page for new members, then I apologize to everyone currently viewing it on their FL--please ignore!]

To submit anything to the list, be it fanfiction, comments, etc, all you have to do is send an email to:
smrff @ yahoogroups.com

All that you have to do is start an email the same way that you would when replying to me, sending an email to a friend, etc. Just..instead of emailing lady_baine @ yahoo.com, you`re going to email smrff @ yahoogroups.com. Does that make sense?

Also, you can just hit REPLY to any e-mail from SMRFF and you will automatically get our e-mail address.

There are a couple of ways that you can submit stories, etc.

You can either ATTACH your fic or imbed it in the email. If you attach the story, some readers might not read it because they`re afraid to get a virus. Most of the time, we imbed our stories. Some people do it both ways so that others have a choice. To imbed your story, all you have to do is go to Microsoft Word or wherever you`ve saved your file, and highlight everything that you wrote.
1) You can either do this by dragging your mouse over each page or by hitting the CONTROL button (CTRL) and the "A" button on your keyboard at the SAME TIME. This highlights everything at once and takes less time.

2) After you`ve highlighted everything, either go to Edit/Copy or thit the "CTRL" and "C" buttons on your keyboard at the same time. Now you`ve copied your text!

3) Go to your email account and hit Compose New E-mail (or whatever it is that Hotmail and other groups use). Address the email to smrff @ yahoogroups.com. Make a subject. For example, this month if you submit a holiday fic, you would write [Holiday]"Lighting the Candles" Chapter 1/1." For Holidays, we put the name of the holiday in the subject (aka, we recently put [TAFFDAY] ]so that members know that the writer wants this fic is participating and should qualify for awards, etc. If the chapter is NC-17, please write NC17 in your subject line so that people can skip over it if they choose to do so. If the fic isn't for a holiday, you don't have to put a special section in your subject line about that. You can choose to write [FANFICTION] or [CHAPTER 1/5], etc. If you have more mature content, though, remember that you must ALWAYS add that to your subject line and warn readers!

4) Click on the body of your email and hit the "CTRL" and "P" buttons on your keyboard at the same time, or, if Hotmail lets you, then it is also possible to go to Edit and hit Paste. Some emails let you, but some don`t.

5) Now you`ve copied and pasted your text into an email. Add anything else that you want--author`s notes, edits, etc. Click "SEND."

6) Congratulations! You have just imbedded your story into an email!!

~Does that make sense? Let me know if it got too convoluted. You can always send me an instant message, a comment, or an e-mail! I will warn you that I`m currently in Japan, so I`m 13-16 hours ahead of the United States, if this is where you live. When it is 10 a.m. on Saturday morning here, it is 9 p.m. on Friday evening in Pennsylvania (EST). Most of my friends usually only see me on when it is their Friday or Saturday nights. If they`re online earlier in the morning, they might see me on because it is night-time for me. But feel free to catch me if you see me. E-mail also works, but it`s not as "in-the-moment" and I`m afraid of confusing you further!!

Comments, questions, suggestions? Let me know!

Also, if you ever have any ideas for the list, let us know! We're always looking for things that are innovative and new to get the blood flowing. Also, remember to tell your friends who are SM Writers or your favorite authors about SMRFF! The more active members that we have posting stories, the more there is to read and the better our holidays will be.

Happy December, everyone!

Happy New Year, everyone!

To start it off with a bang, I'm thinking that it's time for another holiday!

Since our beloved Holiday Mod is busy with finals before she leaves to return to the States, it has fallen to me to light the flame beneath your butts so that you get hopping....and yes, I *AM* that sadistic and cruel.

I want to see everyone's charred butts next month when it's time for our annual WAFF Day Challenge!

What is WAFF Day, you ask?

Or maybe....what is WAFF?

That's an easy question that I'm more than happy to answer for all of our newbies and all of our aging old farts who are getting Alzheimer’s [and yes, I AM looking at you, [info]thelonepig! ^.~].

WAFF is an acronym that stands for "Warm and Fuzzy Feelings." This past October, we had our annual TAFF Day, which stands for "Twisted and Fuzzy Feelings." SMRFF was one of the first to incorporate these acronyms (did we create it?), and the terms are still seen in the SM fandom more than they are anywhere else!

TAFF is the angst that has us on the edge of our toes while we read a fic while WAFF is full of the warm, gooey moments. Be it a first kiss, a declaration of love, or something equally sweet and sappy, we can always use some sugary romance in our lives.

I know that a lot of our newbies write WAFF, so I'm expecting to see great things, y'all!

The who, the what, the when, the why, the how.

WAFF Day is celebrated on February 14th every year because Valentine's Day is the day of looove. You get one week to post your fics!

Posting will start on WEDNESDAY, February 7th at 12 a.m. PST, and end on WEDNESDAY, February 14th at 11:59 p.m. PST.

You have one week to post one-shots, chapters, complete fics, song fics, fan art, drabbles, etc! You can even post old fics that you've written before as long as you revise them!

The only stipulation is that the fics have to be WAFFY! You can utilize any pairings that your little heart desires--though we do hope that nobody ever writes another bestiality fic after our one and only travesty all of those years ago (I'm showing my age, aren't I?). Anything that is rated M/R/NC-17/etc must have the rating in the subject line, because we have both minors and adults who don't wish to read certain things on the site. If you write yaoi/slash/etc, it is preferred for that to go into the subject line as well.

If we get a lot of participants, we will hold our annual polls to choose winners! In the past, we have had categories such as Best Kiss, Best Overall Fic, etc. If we have enough for only an Overall category, we can do that, too. Winners will get lovely prizes!!! If we don't have enough participants for a poll, we will still give out participation banners.

HOWEVER!! You have a month to write something, so I expect to see good things. PLEASE don't let me down. Remember how much you love me. Remember how much you love SMRFF. Let's revive our list, at least for the holidays. We had a good holiday for TAFF, but we will have a BETTER holiday for WAFF, because we have more time....RIGHT!?

....Plus, if we can get the enthusiasm back into the group, then we can have our annual WAFF vs. TAFF showdown in April! I have a storage closet full of chocolate-covered Mamo-chans clothed only in loin-clothes, picket banners, a beautiful fence just waiting to be sat on, cans of angst and fluff...........so many goodies, just waiting to be utilized!

If you have questions or comments, please don't hesitate to e-mail me or the group! My personal e-mail is lady_baine @ yahoo.com and the group e-mail is smrff @ yahoogroups.com. If you are a new remember and don't know how to post stories to the group, please look at this website (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/smrff/message/2705) for a prior notice that I sent regarding how to do this. I have also uploaded the information into a Word document, available here: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/smrff/files/.

You can look for me online, too--my info is in my signature. Be warned, however, that I'm living in Japan at the moment and may not be on when you are unless it is the weekend.

Have a great week. Happy New Year! I expect great things from SMRFF!!!!! [And we WILL remind you about this holiday, so WATCH OUT!!]

Hey, I have a Sailor Moon-related question. Sure, it's not fanfic, but it's indirectly related to my current (!) Sailor Moon plotusagibunny, which is not entirely Usagi x Mamoru (it's actually a whole lot of Usagi x Seiya please don't shoot me I love you!), so it might never see the light of SMRFF. And hey, just to start discussions, I might just post my input for alt.fan.sailor-moon here (later on), about the 200 Days of Sailormoon project. We're on episode 27 or so right now.

Anyway, my question:
Does anyone know where I can download some international versions of the Sailor Moon songs? I mean songs like the German "Colors of Love," or any others? I know Beej has the LIST of them, but SailorMusic.Net doesn't host them, and neither does SailorSS. Anyone have any ideas? Or if you have a copy... *_* I would be eternally grateful. Matter of fact, my SM site has been dead for so long, it's way overdue for an OVERHAUL, and I'd love to host anything that I was looking for that I didn't have before. I've already got much of the Sailor Moon Memorial Song Boxes (thanks [info]baine!) and even some cool remixes of songs, the Another Story game soundtrack, and plenty more.

Okay wait, I have another question: Does anyone know of a good MPA -> MP3/OGG/WAV converter? I currently use Cheetah, which does fine for converting OGGs and the like, but I have many international SM theme songs in MPA, and I'd like to convert them to something of a higher quality. Short of re-recording them, I don't know how to do that. Freeware is best, though... :D

..Actually, now that I think about it, I'm probably a big idiot for converting so many OGG songs to MP3s and deleting the originals. Yes, it's much easier for me to drag and drop into iTunes that way... Actually, I have a plug-in that lets me play/burn/convert/drag & drop OGGs just as if they were MP3s. I'm a dummy. OGG POWER, MAKE UP!

No freakin' way.

We all know that Geena Davis, once upon a presidential baseball game involving dreary midnights time, thought Sailor Moon was amusing enough to state that she wouldn't mind playing Queen Beryl. Yeah, like that ever went anywhere. Nonetheless, conversation is stimulating (and something this comm. sorely needs), so why not discuss this latest article.

Animage IS a well-known Japanese mag., but...
a) who's to say that Animage really talked to Movie Hotties?
b) they weren't yanking MH's chain?
c) Animage wasn't pulling an April Fool's joke that hit the States a few months too late?
d) all of the above and then some/other

Still, I keep thinking... "Well, what kind of villain would Jennifer Garner play?" Note they didn't say WHICH villain, if they chose to use one from the series. Personally I think some semblance of Stars is long-overdue here in the English-speaking world. Not sure if they ever dubbed it in any European languages, but with a somewhat more open-minded world out here since 1995, I'd like to think that today's kids might be able to handle sex-changing senshi, or "transvestite" teens searching for their alien princess. I mean, if it hasn't been done in anime before, surely it's been done on the WB, right!?

Methinks if they HAD to pick a good villain from the series for Garner to play, she'd make a killer Galaxia. (Hence the whole rambling about Stars.)

But if not... which villain do you think she'd play? The article says "The Main Villain," and personally, I don't think Lohan can pull off a convincing 15 year old. So if they bumped up the ages of the Senshi, or even did a "continuation from SuperS that isn't Stars," then it's likely SM and Co. would be facing a brand new enemy that we've never even heard of. If such were the case, how would YOU write her?

I find this all hilarious either way, because you've got one of Hollywood's either most loved or most hated stars, a kick-ass Mrs. "I can be a spy AND a mother, biatch!" Affleck, the writer of Buffy, and the evil masterminds from FOX. I mean, what a combo... these guys, with the rights to SM? Huh.

Thoughts?
